My name is Cham (33). I’m a proud mom of twee children Liam (5) and Amy and I’m 37 weeks pregnant of our third child.
As a mother who likes interior styling it’s a matter of finding a balance when you have children who leave their toys lying around. For our newborn I’m very selective with what I bring into the home. Do I want a playpen or not? A lot of playpens don’t fit into our interior. That’s why I opted to not have one for the first few weeks, but instead make use of a incredibly beautiful product: the NONOMO hammock. It looks functional but at the same time it’s a real eye catcher in our home! The minimalist, soft design blends perfectly with our interior. Appearance does matter, doesn’t it? With pride I can tell you that I recently gave birth to our son Yuki! Imagining having a baby in the hammock has quickly become reality! After having the hammock in the house for a week, our little one couldn’t wait any longer.
We have been using the NONOMO from the very first day. As a new family of five we had to settle in again and get used to the new situation of having our hands full with three children; i.e. we were really short-handed! We noticed that Yuki still benefitted a lot from being limited in his movements and was actually missing mom’s womb, which seems logical. In our arms he was very relaxed but of course this was not always an option... We still have two other kids who need our attention.
It was wonderful to see how much peace Yuki found in the NONOMO. The design and the limitation of the hammock simulate a cocoon effect. The automatic motor, that makes subtle movements, creates a womb-like atmosphere. Rocking softl just like in mama’s belly, that’s just great. We often put him in the hammock while he’s crying and as soon as he feels the movements, he calms down. This is what we so desperately needed.
This way we have our hands free so we make time for our tho older children! The hammock has been nicknamed ‘The Magical Hands’ ;).

Giggling and playing in the hammock
Time to take you along for Yuki's development. He is a curious little guy, loves to look around, and is already trying to grab things! When he sees the hammock, he smiles from ear to ear and almost squirms out of my arms; that is where I want to be!
We gave the NONOMO hammock an upgrade. There are now toys hanging from it, making it even cozier in the hammock. Sometimes we hear a peal of laughter coming from the hammock! How nice is it to hear from a distance that Yuki is happily playing there? Exactly the sound that makes my mother's heart jump with joy.
As a mom of three, I am always busy. Quite honestly: I sometimes feel guilty about how I have to divide all the attention. But with a giggle or a gurgle from the hammock, I know: it's okay, he's having fun, don't worry so much. That mom guilt... an eternal struggle! But I know one thing: Yuki is happy, safe, and secure in the hammock. And that's all a mother could ask for, so all is well…
From comfort zone to chill zone
'The magical hands' are still here showing off in the living room and the hammock still lives up to its title. By the way, it is very nice to hear reactions from friends and family when they see the NONOMO hammock in our living room. "How beautiful! What exactly is this? How handy!" Of course, everyone gets an explanation and they can immediately see how I use the hammock for Yuki. The reactions are also all the same: "Wow, he is so relaxed in it!" And yes, that's absolutely right!
With time and the development of Yuki, I noticed that I use the hammock differently. In the beginning, I used the hammock to give him comfort and to help him fall asleep. Now I notice that Yuki finds the hammock a nice place to chill in. It calms him down and he can entertain himself in it. And when time Yuki entertains himself in the hammock, this mom has her hands free for other things. It continues to be a nice product. I haven't missed a playpen at home so far, either. This looks a lot more elegant in the interior than a massive playpen, don't you think?
Our First Christmas with Yuki
t's almost that time of the year! The countdown has begun. Christmas is just around the corner. Everything at home is cozy in the Christmas spirit, and the Christmas outfits have arrived! Our very first Christmas together as a family of five... Like it was just yesterday, I remember announcing last year at Christmas, with you in my belly. And now? Now you're just here, our sweet little Yuki! As if you've always been here; you're an integral part of us. We have a very busy schedule around the holidays, but how nice it is that you can always retreat to your hammock. Just peace and quiet for yourself, snug in your cocoon, and every now and then your big brother and sister will come and take a peek. For now, we wish everyone very happy holidays and a wonderful end to the year!

Magic hands for sore gums
Dear Yuki,
How time flies! You’ve been a part of our family for 8 months now and life has certainly changed since you arrived. We’re surrounded by so much love and happiness. And things are a tad busier. As parents of three it isn’t always easy to give you all an equal share of our attention, however hard we try. Still, everything is taking its natural course and, even with three kids, we usually manage pretty well.
There are some exceptions, though, like the phase you’re going through right now. It’s teething time... I’d completely forgotten about that part. Poor Yuki, I can see how much it bothers you. Your two bottom teeth are coming through and if you had your way, you’d be clinging to mummy for cuddles all the time!
As much as I’d love to cuddle you all day long, our home is a busy place and your big brother and sister need me too. Thank goodness we’ve still got our “magical hands”, the NONOMO swinging hammock! It’s such a comfort for you and you’re spending even more time there during this phase. Actually, you’re loving it. And so is mummy (yay, hands free)!
In moments like these I can see how the NONOMO adapts to your needs as you grow and we’re always using it in different ways. In fact, we’re far from finished with it: it’s your best friend and our life saver!
From baby hammock to play tent
Oh, how time flies! You've already passed your first year of life. Our little baby is no longer a baby.
